I've surrendered

Well, here it is folks... my first attempt at going global. So many of my friends have blogs, and I am a religious blog-looker, but I've maintained that I have nothing exciting to share with the world, so I haven't ever gone global. But, I'm bored. Is that a good enough reason to start blogging? Friends have been trying to convince me to start a blog for a long time, but I'm a really boring person. That makes you want to check my blog every day, huh? I haven't figured out all the whistles and bells-- but, that can't be hard, can it? I'm wishing that I had my camera with me yesterday, but I didn't. I'll try to get into the habit of carrying it around with me. I went hiking with my sister Deanna and her husband, Erik (and their kids, Kris and Dallin) and another sister, Allison and her husband, Cam (and their kids, Erica, Emma, Chase, and Leah). We hiked to a little waterfall in Pleasant Grove. We had a good time, and I was especially impressed with Chase's little legs carrying him up that trail (mostly... part of the way I had the pleasure of carrying him on my back). The kids had a good time throwing rocks in the little river. When we got back down the trail, we ate lunch at some picnic tables at the bottom of the trail. Then, we headed out to Utah Lake on Erik's boat. Chase (who just turned 3) is all talk. He is all boy-- loves trains, cars, boats, airplanes... anything that "goes." But, he was terrified to get on that boat. He was convinced that he was going to fall in. Leah (9 months) was dang mad when we put on her life jacket. She was not going to have it... until we got going on the boat. After that, she was perfectly happy with the life jacket. She was completely mesmerized by the waves and sounds. She didn't even get upset when we got splashed with COLD water. Chase, on the other hand, did NOT have a good time. He wouldn't even let Cam hold him with just one arm. Both arms had to be securely around Chase. The water was freezing, and the crazy older kids jumped in the lake! I was mighty impressed with their sense of adventure. They had a good time splashing around. We warned them that they better not get too far from the boat- because none of us were going in after them. We got some grub at Bajio's and took it back to Allison and Cam's to eat. When I got home, I ended up going to the golfing range with some friends, which was a lot of fun, but now my right elbow pit is sore. And, my knee pits are sore from that hike. I spent a lot of time outdoors and it made me more and more excited for summer!

You're a blogger! Hooray! And I know...I need to restart my own blog. I feel much the same as you. I often think I'm boring, but others disagree. And I disagree that YOU'RE boring. So there. Welcome to blogovania! Boredom is as good a reason as any to start. I can't quite recall my original reason either, but I've gotta find a darn good one to pick it up again.

It's fun to hear about your siblings and their kids! Tell them hi from me!

And I'm sorry that all of your pits are sore. Few things worse than a sore pit. ;)

K, love yer guts, chicken liver!

Yay! I like this post! I finally got to read it! And nice that I'm at work reading it instead of at home where I SHOULD be reading it. And I agree with Tina (ha ha) that YOU are the FURTHEST thing from boring. I KNOW those third (or second, I forget which ones)graders of yours will have something funny for you to write about.
And you can write about your visit with me and the boys and how freaking adorable Ben is and how much you love him even more than your own nieces and nephews. HA!

Sore pits are the pits says I. I'm so happy you're on the air...or is it wires?
Anyway, my Evie hated the life jacket too, but within four seconds of getting on the boat, she konked out!
You are such a fun aunt, going on all the adventures with your sisters and their kids. I have a sister like you named Amy...and once one of the kids said "Everyone should have an Amy". Isn't it true?
By the way, would you be ok if I had a link to your blog on mine? Carrie is technologically challenged and it would help her see it! (Sorry Carrie, you know it is true...) I'll be checking on you again soon!

By the way, I stole your shelf widget idea...Have you read the host? Did you enjoy it? I'll be reviewing it today on my blog...

Yay! People read it. I didn't think anyone would! Yes, Angie, you can link me up to yours. I hope it's ok I already linked you! I haven't read The Host, yet-- it's next in my pile of books to read. I've got to get through Stardust. I figure I probably shouldn't start The Host until school gets out... otherwise I might get sucked in, and be unable to go sleep one night. But, I can't wait to read your review!

I love it when someone new enters the blogging world. Sometimes I feel like my blog world is the only place I have friends :). Believe me, you'll think of things to write about. I'm going to link you to mine so I can check in on you every once in a while. By the way, my body is also sore from the driving range. I always thought golf took no muscles. I guess I was wrong.

Ugh, I know, it's me AGAIN! But, I just wanted to answer your question about canned roast beef. It is NOT like spam. It is more like the chicken/tuna but bigger chunks and less "canned" tasting. It isn't at all like "Fancy Feast", it just seems that it would be! (Thanks for checking out the blog...you are a doll!)
