Random Happenings

My first random happening to report: I finished the book The Host. I enjoyed it immensely. There were a few descriptions of different "planets" I could have lived without... but overall, a highly enjoyable book. I don't normally enjoy sci-fi, but this was an exception.

Second random happening: I am helping with my school's Summer Reading Program for the month of June. I'm actually quite enjoying it because I'm getting to know many of the students I will have in my class next year. The only not-so-good part about it is that I'm still having to wake up early. I guess I'll look on the bright side: at least I'm not sleeping my summer vacation away.

Third: My friend, Spanky, is going to be on the show Deal or No Deal on Wednesday, and I'm excited to watch it-- with his luck, he'll probably win the million.

Fourth: Next week I am going to St. George for the Core Academy (teacher stuff). I am driving down with four other teachers from my school on Monday and will be coming home Thursday evening. While we are down there, we will be going to two shows at the Tuacahn. We are seeing The Sound of Music and Les Miserables. How excited am I about seeing the shows? Very. I've never seen The Sound of Music on stage. I've seen Les Mis about a googilian times, but am more than thrilled to see it again.

Fifth: My bestest friend, Heather, and her husband, Ryan, and their new baby, Ben, are coming to Utah in a week! It's a very exciting trip because a) I haven't seen Heather since November b) I've never seen Ben, and most importantly c) they are all getting sealed in the Timp temple while they are here. I'm very excited for them.

Sixth: I got sad news (but exciting news at the same time) that another bestest friend, Marin, will be moving to Washington state next week. She got a job up there! I'm happy for her, but sad for those she's leaving behind (especially me... she's going the way all my friends seem to go... away!) Good luck, Marin!

Seventh: I just made a hair appointment for next Saturday-- Yay!

Eighth: I have completely avoided preparing my Relief Society lesson for tomorrow by posting this... I better get busy. I also have to go to the church to practice the organ- tomorrow is a very demanding day for me.

Oooh, I love Tuacahn! Shane and I have taken our girls a few times. We've seen Peter Pan, Utah (a pioneer story), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. All of which were AMAZING! Let me know what you think...I want to go again this summer! Good luck with the Relief Society Lesson, I've got to take a gaggle of girls to the Scera Shell tomorrow night for Achievement Days! By the end of the evening I might be willing to switch you for that Relief Society Lesson!

Ahhh... yeah- you're my bestest friend too. :) I saw Spanky last night and didn't know it was him (I hadn't read your blog yet) and was like, "That guy looks familiar, but nah... I don't know him". I mean, I've only met Spanky a handful of times... but then i started chatting with Trav and he told me it was Spanky! So funny. We even talked about him here at work, everyone was rooting for him! Or is it routing? I don't know. Me dumb.
